Saturday morning, after breakfast at a good pancake joint James knew about called Blueberry Hill, we headed out to Hoover Dam, it had been awhile since anyone of us had been. Here are a few pictures from the Dam.
Here we are with Lake Mead behind us:
Hoover Dam:
Colorado River and really cool bridge they are building. Our tour guide said it should be done in a year. This is to alleviate traffic over the dam.
We went on the power plant tour. Basically you just walk around in tunnels underneath and check out the turbines.
Ok, so after the Hoover Dam we went to the Las Vegas Premium Outlet mall, which actually wasn't far at all from our hotel. I had never been there but was impressed with all the good stores it had, way better than the outlet stores in Park City. For dinner we wanted to avoid any restaurants on the Strip. We found this awesome Mexican restaurant called Lindo Michoacan. It was really good and the servers were all dressed in Mexican garb and there was even live music. We'll probably hit it up again.
That night was the Killers concert at Mandalay Bay! That was pretty awesome. A band called "Phoenix" opened up for them, they were really good. Turns out they are from Paris, so bonus.

Here are the killers. Pretty awesome concert.

The next morning we woke up and attempted to head back home. We got a bit of a late start and just wanted to find anything to eat. After some circling around the neighborhood, we found a Burger King but they had stopped serving breakfast, so we tried to find another place like Starbucks or Einsteins where we knew we could get breakfast type food all day. Even with the GPS, we weren't having any luck. Finally, after driving in circles and being indecisive about what we want to eat, we finally decide to just find a McDonald's, even if they aren't serving breakfast. We find a McDonald's, but had to maneuver all around construction to even get to it. Once we are close we finally see a Jack in the Box and remember they serve breakfast all day. So, after like an hour of looking, we finally get breakfast. After that, we needed a few things for the car before we could leave. Where we filled up for gas they didn't have the oil we needed and then this guy walked in and the cashier suddenly tells him to leave for no reason that I could tell and said she'd call the police, needless to say, I got the heck out of there. So, we plugged in an auto store in the GPS to get oil, but couldn't get to it because of more construction, and then finally, after driving through some more ghetto neighborhoods, found a different auto store, THEN we could finally leave. We had driven so north trying to find breakfast and oil for the car, we had already left Vegas and were on the edge where the city meets desert. It was a good time for sure.
